☆ Sketch Process ☆

Before the spooky ghost gal I was toying with the idea of having a transparent, more traditional ghost sticker design. I just wanted to give you a very brief (in no way detailed or complete) look into the first part of my process.

☆ Part 1
I use the 6B pencil to sketch everything.
Trying to get just the basic shapes for body parts, and add some movement in the hair.

 ☆ Part 2

This is probably my favorite part.
Detail!
I love putting in smaller details and refining my sketch. Doing this makes it a lot easier to line - because my style doesn't really lend itself to being able to hide behind rough lines or colours.

I've noticed recently my ability to draw hands has improved. I now notice myself actually looking at people around me and noting how their fingers and knuckles line up.

After this stage I would move onto lining etc.
At some point I will create a much more in-depth and featureful process run through for you. But, I think you can tell from this sketch I wasn't really feeling it or have a specific direction for it...especially when it came to colour.
(It probably didn't help either I was doing it at 4AM)

Anyway, here is the finished illustration….
If you have any questions about it, let me know!
