Verum 1 MK II - first impressions

This was a first recording attempt with my new microphones.

Listening to it afterwards I have the impression as if I will still need lots of work to make it perfect. The Verum-1 sounded more like it when I put on the ZMF pads, with the original pads the sound was somehow not captured that well.

I hope it will arrive this week as we will be going on vacation for some days and I would like to take it with us and maybe also shoot some first unboxing.

Fugoo XL - frequency response measurements

Measured outdoor with and without sport jacket. The jacket was already modded with a thinner material, otherwise the original sport jacket would reduce treble even more. Also visible is some impact on mids and upper mids when playing inside the jacket creating some additional resonance above 1khz.

JBL Partybox 100 - frequency response measurements

Measured outdoors at around half volume and maximum.

Treble boost appears excessive, but actually it helps to make the overall sound appear more in balance. The problem is rather the peaky treble response.

JBL Partybox On The Go - frequency response measurements

The new Partybox On The Go measures pretty balanced without bass boost with just a tad too much mid bass around 100-200hz. Bass boost 1 would need more treble boost at the same time to get the sound more in balance, while bass boost 2 is just a bad joke.

Overall response is definitely more natural than on the Partybox 1...
