Power Burnishing On The Lathe

A video popped up on my feed about power burnishing. I'd never seen such a thing.

Turns out, it's a thing. You can even buy commercial burnishers. I really had no choice to but to build one and try it for myself.

I was just going to try to replicate the straight one, when I thought ... would it work if it were round? Everyone knows round knives are the handiest!

The Y axis on the Maho mill has been in bad shape and fixing the ballnut/screw has been long overdue.

I took a swing at rebuilding it and missed.  But what doesn't kill us makes us stronger right?
