Guzorplehorns

kmacleod post Guzorplehorns from patreon

Last year, AI image generators were mocked for their inability to depict human hands. That hilarious deficiency has been fixed. On the bright side, it can't do brass instruments! I've been calling these impossible abominations "guzorplehorns".

The guys with the "Royal Bass Guzorplehorns" are quite possibly the coolest...

Fun times with generative audio processing!

kmacleod post Fun times with generative audio processing! from patreon

I spent a good 4 hours last night figuring out Adobe's new "human-voice-clean-up-o-matic" tool. It is good... If I had this years ago, my audio would have been better in many cases.

Good thing is... you can still fix your old crappy audio and give your project some new life!

Incompetech goes ad-free!

After 20 years, I’ve pulled ads from incompetech.

Adsense has been de-listing page on incompetech week-by-week due to lack of content. There are few pages remaining that are qualified to run ads. I’m not mad at Adsense, it just isn’t working out anymore. We’ve both moved on, and that’s cool.  View Post

The Agent Heavy Future

Right now, there are a lot of people going to web sites. In the next couple of years, that number is going to be eclipsed by autonomous agents. I worked with ChatGPT to make it easier for autonomous agents to access my music!

You heard it here first, my friends! Web sites are going to be less optimized for humans,...

Frantic Piano Stuffs

kmacleod post Frantic Piano Stuffs from patreon

In 1833, Chopin's Etude Op 10 No 4 "Torrent" was published.

In 2023, I put a ridiculous drum track on that etude.

This was a request I got in email a few weeks ago. I'm not sure how it'll be used, but I can imagine this being the theme to a timed video game bonus round.

Why Carnivals are creepy at night.

I've been working on designing the perfect panflute, so I've been getting into 3d printing all sorts of tests and learning how to tune these things.

Temperature matters. A lot. A lot more than I thought.

Enter the carnival organ. These often have percussion effects and mallet instruments that play along with the p...

kmacleod post I'm going crazy with the AIs! from patreon

A lot of my time these days is spent working with the AIs; Stable Diffusion, Nyvox, Midjourney, Magenta (tone transfer), et al.

Right now I'm in the middle of getting new album covers for pieces. I was surprised at how long this process takes.

I am more surprised at the quality of the images.

Explaining the joke.

WARNING: MATHS

I posted the funniest post I've ever made on Twitter.

"Does anyone know a generalized continued fraction expansion of Khinchin's constant? ... asking for a friend."

Very few got the joke. I'm not surprised. It was pretty geeky. Today, I'm here to explain it. :-)

Too Much Horror

kmacleod post Too Much Horror from patreon

Whilst playing some horror game yesterday, I had the idea of 3 pianos swirling about the listener menacingly, each wanting their own part.

This is a quick proof of concept for the idea.

I can probably get it to swirl better.

Also, don't blame me for the notes.. those are random.

Party Boogie Preview

kmacleod post Party Boogie Preview from patreon

Got a request from a Patreon supporter for a fast boogie piece. This was completed in 24 minutes, and required a bit of recovery time. It was exhausting to play!

No MIDI keyboards were injured during the recording of this piece; darn close, though.

Expected full release is some time in July, 2021.

This Waltz Album is getting weird

kmacleod post This Waltz Album is getting weird from patreon

I'm not sure if this narrative-style piece is going to make the cut for the new waltz album.

"Fox Tale Waltz: Part 1"  is some sort of a takeoff on Peter and the Wolf.

Fox: Plucked Cellos

Rabbit: Flutes

Squirrel: Bowed Violins

Wolf: Viola

People will do things when they are convinced they should do a thing.

If you're convinced you should eat; you find a way to eat.

I was convinced to write a heart-wrenching slow waltz with fart sounds.

I do apologize for wasting everyone's patreon money, but I am convinced the world needs this!!!! ...

Dreams Become Real Request

I got a request today for sheet music for "Dreams Become Real". I hoped I could do it easily, but... no. What I COULD do, it export the MIDI file so you can see all the notes.

What are you going to do with a MIDI file? I don't know. Open it in Garageband. Change the tempo or instruments. It is super easy!

It'll take less than 15 seconds to enjoy.

I'm not sure if I'm going to make it into a full length piece yet. Happy Tuesday!
