List & Ya Boy: Extra Content

Every week JV has topics on his List that don't make the air.  Here are notes for this week's episode that were missed:

AEW's Cracker Barrel partnership
* as a new entity, you need to look for creative ways to make money
* I consider it different than WWE putting sponsored content on the Network such as a "Table for 3" episode at Applebee's
-- WWE should only feature content like that on the upcoming free tier

We've talked about how the NXT USA deal means more talent jumps are likely
* Cesaro has been announced for NXT UK Takeover Cardiff this Saturday
-- I like it!  Good for the brand, and good for the NXT UK talent to work with a quality veteran like Cesaro

WWE continues to do good things with the King of the Ring tournament
* I loved the finish of Cedric vs. Cesaro where Cesaro got tossed out, rolled back in and right into the Lumbar Check for the finish
-- Cedric is still not there in terms of his facials and his over-selling but he's a great athlete and KOTR is a good showcase of his skill set
* Huge win for Ricochet over Drew McIntyre
-- I was torn on this because I like both guys and want to see WWE get behind both of them.  Not sure where Drew goes from here but I think either a move to NXT (with a run on top there) or time off would benefit him.
* I didn't like that Chad Gable's win over Shelton Benjamin came off flukey.  He's a hell of a talent and should get the chance to showcase it just like Ricochet and Cedric.  Looks like he'll be fodder for Andrade most likely.
* Corbin winning, I say whatever.  At least he looks better in the tank top, and they continue to put his finish over strong.
* I still like the idea of "Joseph, the King of Samoa" so I'm rooting for him to win it all

Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler
* another makeshift team gets an immediate push that may not last but Roode has a history of being a great tag team wrestler and so this could be a good fit for him in particular
* at the very least they need matching gear and the same entrance
* made no sense to have Street Profits announce the participants in an eight team gauntlet but then exclude them from it

Impact
* announced Ken Shamrock for tapings next week; I again applaud Impact for at least trying to do something different to get attention given their limited budget and exposure - that's why they do the intergender stuff with Tessa
* we'll see what happens with LAX; could see them being Jericho's mystery partners

ROH
* they're doing an eight-man tournament with the winner facing Matt Taven for the ROH Title
* first round matches will start at Death Before Dishonor on Sept 27
-- feels like this is too soon given the current King of the Ring buzz and the fact the G1 recently ended.  Makes ROH look like they're piggybacking off those tournaments

Edge
* he posted a selfie showing himself in great shape and hinting he could do a match
* SRS speculated that maybe Edge is looking for some of that "Saudi money" - we'll see!
