December Updates

Hey guys!

Another month has passed, and I'm back with another update. Apart from some tentative tackling of job applications which I'm otherwise mostly leaving for January and a lot of sleeping and watching anime I’ve not been up to much, so I'll jump right into how the Gou/Sotsu video's coming along: first things first, sadly not unsurprisingly, I can say for sure now that I won't be able to get the video out by the end of the year. The good news is I foresee no issues with releasing it in January -- hopefully in the first half of the month. I've spent the past few weeks on background reading and note-taking. Specifically, I've read basically every interview Ryukishi has ever done on Higurashi that I could find, as well as various other information pertaining to its development (which began as a semi-unrelated rabbit hole but, as these rabbit holes often do, actually became absolutely instrumental in informing the angle I'm going to take with the video), reread chunks of the original series and otherwise collated various bits of my analysis and other thoughts on the two shows that I recorded while they were actually airing. To give some idea of what this all looks like, I'm about to hit the thirty-page mark on my planning document, and that's before I've even started rewatching the actual shows! My plan is to blast through those (and the accompanying manga) before Christmas, then to have the script done around New Year's, from which point it should only take a week or two to make the actual video. At worst, the rest of Jan should be enough to finish everything up even if I don’t hit all those deadlines.

That's about all I have to say right now, so sorry of the lack of exciting updates! The planning part of the video-making process always takes up by far the most time, especially for projects like this, but I'm happy with how things are moving along and am slowly building my roadmap and vision for the video, as well as my confidence in tackling it. I'll be back ASAP with any further updates/previews!
