Sure 😃 1. She is a possessive and a bit deranged. Trying to apply logic to her will just end in frustration. 2. Emergency protocols. 3. Because of his "closeness" to Verrona also he is an outsider who he does not clear what happens to. 3a. Because they are hiding who they are.

2025-12-16 09:27:49 +0000 UTCI still have lots of questions which (imho) are disrupting the cohesion of this story. This whole plot point feels very contrived and abrupt. 1) Why did she "own him now"? Yes, she saved his life, except not really, as he was awake enough to self-administer the antidote. Furthermore, he saved HER life with the dagger and by de-handing the Matriarch. 2) Why did the Battle Barge/Uncle start accelerating to FTL while Remi was onboard? Was it betrayal? Did he overstay a departure window? Author needed to separate Remi from the crew? It really just feels like that last one. 3) Why would the Duke, Mr Bigshot himself, go to one of his many, MANY gladiators with a request to start a deniable war with his brother. I'm sure he has literally thousands of other resource that can do it as well. It feels very out of character. Also, Remi's first meeting with an S-tier person was offscreen? 3a) Why would *anyone* wish to hire a crew who, as far as they know, is now a bunch of Rogue AI's that are violating the first law? I did, however, really enjoy the small blurb about the crew all coming together to sit at the table. It feels like they're becoming more "human".
