Chapter 154 In space with a junkyard ship

Comments

550 rpm flak will be quite effective. Especially since it's not fragmentation, so it delivers it's "AoE" damage in a sphere (cone?) Instead of in the forms of fragments that either hit or don't hit. Since the Phalanx CIWS uses kinetic penetrators at 4500 rpm (according to wiki}, a flak hard light should also be pretty effective.

I personally like slice of life with occasional fight scenes in the novels I read, and junkyard ship strikes that balance for me well. While I'm sure many ppl would be interested in a much more action packed story, I would at most read it for a little while just as a way to pass time in abscence of other stuff. But I do tend to get bored of overly action packed stories.

I was feeling that you were well right and balanced in the amount of fight in your story, some would say not enought or etc, but the amount is just right in the style and narrative of your story in my view, like other said, except for strategic fight or new things, fight dont really progress the story or etc add something very meaningfull, but if you feel its one of your weakpoint in your writing, or more you try to dodge it the max possible each time for personal reason or difficulty with it, well go for it as you feel is right or want to try more, cant really learn and etc without learning by experience :)

I usually skim fight scenes in most fantasy books. When they're plot-relevant, there's some interesting event or talk, or when a character establishes some new capability, I certainly read them in full. But fight after fight with nothing new, just as a filler? In my mind it just gets replaced with "he fought n times more encounters and was somewhat tired afterwards, the skills advanced a bit". Also I usually drop books that have unnecessary or trivial fights stretch for several chapters, but I suspect I'm in minority here. All that doesn't concern strategic fights, where each one is a new puzzle that characters solve using existing means in new ways, those are usually very interesting.

Am happy with Story :-) less fighting or rather strategic fighting, instead of individual fights is very fine with me Thnxxx and keep up with the good work

Oh boy he hard light. That could be murder on small craft. If you could combine this with missile barrage. By that I mean you could use the explosions to mask missile launches. Especially if you have any handy asteroids or debree around.
