As RaijinCloud said, the dinosaurs and flying whale and shit are mostly symbolical/allegory.
One key most non-japanese viewers are missing is the lyrics. The chorus keeps repeating "Shinzou wo sasageyo", which is the motto of the Scouts, and what Erwin keeps using to rally and motivate the troops (including in this very episode).
It translates roughly as "give in/dedicate your hearts". Put this in perspective with another key that most people miss because they are wierded out by the dinosaurs : all organisms shown in the opening, humans or animals, have their heart highlighted/glowing.
The whole meaning of the opening is still subject to personal interpretation, but it's definitely not to be taken literally. (I mean, giant zombies and flying whales, ok, but dinosaures? now that's just silly talk :p )

Dude you are on point about the world of AoT and how it expands and how a simple premise just gets more and more complex. Season 3 won't disappoint in that regard. Things are only gonna get more mental.

If you really think I'm going to watch an one hour video with AoT discussions you're damn correct

The way Erwin did it was last episode Hannes lead the chase through the forest to catch up to Reiner and crew, while Erwin lead a bunch of people AROUND the forest and sortve U-Turned in the direction towards Reiner to pinsir them. Keep in mind that the horses are faster then Reiner.

The whole dinosaur thing is just symbolic, don't read to deep into it.
Great discussion btw! Really enjoyed this one. Only 6 weeks until S3!

I loved the look on your face when you connected smiling Titan and Hannes being in the same place. I was like, "He figured it out" the moment you got that expression. Great reaction and discussion! The amount of thought you put into your discussions is great. Its the same reason I love Filmbuffs Attack on Titan reactions. You both have longer discussions than actual reactions and it's great to see where your theories take you.

Yeah but he didn't die. I feel like the power has to be taken from the person's cold lifeless body.

Eren has been eaten as titan shifter so, how that didn't happen to him like what happen to Ymir. I think there's something more than that. It's still confusing to me
