It could be that JYP eliminated people just for drama and always planned to do a "surprise twist" and bring the members back or if they really wanted to eliminate people but saw the backlash from the fans and hastily decided to add them back in. The members haven't commented on the show as a whole but Minho and Felix do bring up the eliminations to JYP whenever they appear together sometimes lol on one show Felix directly said to JYP "Why did you eliminate me" or something like that
