Nisk was trained as a cleric by a cult. That cult fractured.
Known as Kul-Gharoth’s Creed, the cult sought knowledge and artifacts of the old god for which they named themselves: Kul-Gharoth, Maker of Beasts and Forger of Scales.
Nisk was one of the dissenters of the Creed, believing the group was going too far in their quest for their titular god. The group that left called themselves Order of the Scale, not shying away from proving their convictions in battle. It was at the Order’s founding that they became Nisk, having shed their former identity and taking on a new name to put their past in the Creed behind them.
In a seemingly divine response, Nisk and the rest of the Order grew horns similar to those depicted in the Kul-Gharoth’s many idols. The group found themselves relieved and in good humor at the change, believing it a good omen. They decided their new sect would always base their difference from the Creed on a similar principle: humor in change.
That humor is exactly what came to Nisk’s mind when stumbling upon a trio in the wilds of Flowcliff, caught in a tangle of brachiosaurus traps. Nisk had just escaped as the last survivor of the Creed’s overwhelming ambush on the Order. The strangeness of the three brought a smile to Nisk’s face, despite all odds, and in saving the group, they began traveling together, adventuring through Flowcliff, looking to help others and make (or re-make) names for themselves. While Raxl and Olgur brought humor and danger alike, there was something strangely prescient in the comfort Nisk felt around Aloria. Almost as if they’d met her before.
In tomes and tales written since, Nisk the Knowing always describes meeting the group as “nothing short of divine intervention.”

Nisk is a human cleric NPC with a Challenge Rating of 13, and their release includes the following:
• Their character card, which includes their character art and NPC stat block.
• The Carnivore's Bane, plate armor that hurts your attackers and empowers your charge into them.
• The Ceratops's Crest, a +1 shield that empowers your charge even more.
• Parasaur's Horn, a helm that augments and magnifies the sound of its wearer.
• A Sauropod Spine, a magical whip that helps communicate with (or dominate) beasts.
• The Strength of the Flock, a rod that empowers the unarmed strength of people around you.
• Guardian's Scales, a protective reactive spell that gets stronger if you predict its trigger.
