Cloudheim, the Mountainside Sanctuary
Added 2024-11-01 17:12:41 +0000 UTCA city shouldn’t be able to exist in the harsh, incessant winter of Mount Mammoth. Nevertheless, Cloudheim does.
Built with dwarven engineering, celestial enchanting, and druidic magic, the grand city of stone stands in spite of the intense regional elements that threaten to destroy it. But citizens of this city are familiar with danger.
Cloudheim was founded to be a sanctuary for anyone who would brave the journey to get to it. Over the centuries, the city has attracted both daring asylum-seekers willing to make the treacherous journey and former adventurers who simply wanted to retire in solitude—all of whom want to protect this haven of a city.
From freezing blizzards to wild white dragons, ice giant raiders to, at one point, an extremely determined goblin, the occasional dangers that do find their way to Cloudheim pose little threat to the collective prowess of the adventurers there. Many of the city's retired adventurers know the value of keeping their skills in good practice, not to mention groups like the Valkyr who wholly dedicate their time to preserving the city. And with the city’s druidic roots, there’s no shortage of skilled mages who have refined their command of storms and flora even further since their arrival.
So Cloudheim stands—a stalwart sanctuary in a perilous world.
