As an engineer for 213 years so far, Volia knows airships better than most people. Despite that experience and the reputation it brings, she still gets some push-back as an elf in a dwarf-dominated profession.

In her younger days as a dock mechanic, she’d tried to quietly let her work speak for itself, but that too often led to louder and prouder men overriding any of her input and ideas. Volia knew, however, that it should be more than pride—mechanics dealt with the lives of aeronauts with every decision they made. She left the docks where she worked and became a traveling engineer-for-hire, living on the skies for years on the very ships she once helped repair.

She realized over her travels that people’s lives are only as safe as the ship they sail upon, and she started thinking of those ships a bit differently: like the most important member of any given crew. That gave her the matter-of-fact personality she has now—neither boastful nor smug about the arcano-mechanical practice she’s had or the endless skies she’s sailed.

Instead, she knows that she’s the only one that feels the way she does about these beautiful, miraculous machines, and is willing to get her hands dirty to heal them.

Volia is an elvish alchemist NPC with challenge rating 9! Her release includes cards and files for:

• His character art and NPC stat block.
• Some Aeronaut's Heels, shoes with boosters jets.
• The Heart Wrench, a big wrench to hit things and heal things.
• A Napsack, which helps you sleep, but also can store dead bodies...?
• Power Boots, which make you strong and let you walk on walls.
• Scopes, which let you see really far away or see things up close a little too well.
