Devlog #4 - April Progress Update
Added 2023-04-26 09:22:20 +0000 UTCMan.. It's been awhile since I've made any posts. April was a pretty busy month for me, and I was sick for nearly a week. Luckily I'm back! And I'm rendering scenes for the next update! As you can see it's going to be a new Rui chapter. As well as Rena's second chapter.
I'm still working on ideas for the open world, and I'm contemplating just winging it like I always do, but... it's still a lot of work. I've been siding towards an objective based open world (missions/quests), rather than grinding stats (reach money to $100~ and so on), to unlock a scene. It seems to be the more acceptable form as far as I've seen, or might do a mix of both.
I'm also slightly worried about the fragmented storylines of each maiden, as most of them are still being introduced, and there isn't enough plot (the usual plot and that plot) right now. Merging them into one big storyline is impossible at this point, but hopefully more chapters should help it be more cohesive towards the overall story of the darkness and the maidens.

Thank you for the reply! I've been meaning to respond the moment you sent such a lengthy and informative idea, but alas I've been busy figuring out ways to incorporate your ideas into the game too :D

2023-05-30 12:05:00 +0000 UTCWhen it comes to the open world, I think a mix of grinding and missions would be good. I guess it depends on the situation and the girl involved. For Rui and her quest of helping her father a mission would probably be good... like going to certain places for clues or finding objects. On the other hand grinding can also help when the MC has special events coming up where he needs certain stats (like fighting together etc.). At some point he needs to develop himself and his abilities in order to fight the darkness. And grinding stats can help him unlock new stages or even power up the maidens more when being intimate. As long as I don't need to grind for 2 hours for a new event, I don't mind it ^^ So far I don't mind the fragmented storylines...as you said, it's still in the introduction phase, so it's alright like that. Yes, sometimes it does feel somewhat strange beeing fragmented (maybe the open world would help here to...like getting a new event by actually finding the maidens in the open world), but it still is the start of the story, so it would also be weird if everything came together already. It needs to come together at some point when they really join the MC and the fight, so there are a lot of possibilities for that in the future. But overall I have to say, that you did a really good job so far. So I can only ask you to keep up the work... and of course to stay healthy ;-)
