[Characters #1] - VN Creation

Probably the first thing you'll ever do first, are character creations. It's really the base point I started from, way before I started coding and script writing. It's also one the more exciting process out of the whole thing. It took awhile for me to plan out the whole maiden lineup, but I had a great time creating them.

There's just something so satisfying about realizing a character from your head into the world. Deciding what clothes they wear, or if they wear any scars on their self, adjusting body sliders to fit your character archetype, to the thousands of different hairstyles available for the women.. (and a pitiful amount for the males)

All of these things add up to creating a new and unique character that is the right fit for the game. However, I'd be lying if I said I did it alone. HS2 has a unique card feature, where you can upload the characters you made online, and other people can use it. Which I've used a lot.

And the best part, you can fuse 2 cards together! It really is a boon to be able to do that. Creating a new character doesn't need to be complicated, or hours to create... You can get a free template however much you want! 

As a dev, this cuts down on the time I need when I create side-characters, or villains that might need more than a faceless character I sometimes use, especially on crowds. It'd be insane if I were to give each of them unique faces and clothes. 

Also.. I've used some really basic character cards from the game itself, which I don't like to use much. Due to them really only having asian faces for the majority.

So.. what's this lesson about then?

Those of you who wishes to use HS2... Well I just want to tell you to be creative! There's so much  things to experiment with that I haven't touched on yet, and you shouldn't be afraid to use other people's cards to help your process. Just don't call them your own if you didn't do anything with it!
