EOK 0.0.23 part B

Hello everyone!


Here's the build update. 

I'm going to keep this short and have a full news post for next month posted in a few days. For right now, I just want to focus on this build. 

Well I believe I finally got most of the bugs fixed. It turns out that my Unity wasn't saving the right file when I built the game. Minle's unity was however saving the missing code and we have no idea why this happened. The bug in question would cause the game to stop working because it couldn't start the mini game when the goblin did it's grapple move. Everything else was working fine even when the rest of the monsters used it. This took us a lot of work to just find because it only showed up on my side but only when I released a game not in my editor. This meant we had to go and compare each file manually to find the missing code. Thankfully we found the error but we didn't have time to include the fix in this build. To make sure the game still runs and that people can play the game , we turned off the grapple for the goblins. (This means the boss won't have it's grapple too since it's using the same code. With this temp fix combat should run.

That being said, there were a few other major bugs we focused on. There was a problem where the game would hang on the victory screen. This was the bug that I was trying to fix and it kept failing during the public build. This was a full problem on my side. I was trying to fix things in a hurry and cause the bug while rushing the build. For that fix I added a new button at the end of combat. If combat hangs for too long a button will spawn to force the screen to move over. This was a backup fix just in case the bug appears again. 

The last major bug was the 14th day trigger. Sometimes combat and the other bugs could make the player miss the trigger and you would keep playing pass day 14th. This was fixed. No more should the player be left at 0 hp right after combat and 14th should always trigger. 


There were minor bugs fixes like some typos, improvement of pausing and loading in the game to keep the game from causing these type of bugs again. All was tested on a different computer on my end to make sure that you folks can play the game fully. 


That all took most of this months work. The only thing added this month was the boss game over screen, a new tool tip for the map screen. Hover over buttons and UI info to get a text box with some more info. This only works right now on the town map. I also did some work on inventory to fix the weapons from disappearing. I also added a new event to give more food to players while normal searching to help players reach the boss. 


That's it for this update, One final word, I'll be posting a bigger post about the whole unity problem, and I'll be changing how we do build releases. We are getting to the point of the game where each build just needs more time to make and I need to update folks with more posts to test out the game as we have a need for more testers as things can be missed. This means that I am going to delay a lot of my plans for the game release as we clearly need more time now. For now enjoy the build. It should be a lot more stable and since I don't feel a lot of new things were added
