2019-07-12 00:17:05 +0000 UTCAlso, Meruem does sound like a Chinese philosopher. The stuff he talks about and the strategies he uses are extremely reminiscent of Chinese antiquity. I think you're somewhat underestimating Meruem's pride too. It's not the type where he'd simply destroy everything in his path, but rather he only wants to beat you by your rules. He desires complete victory. When you mentioned "Right arm" repeatedly, we could really see the gulf in cultural differences between modern day Americans and their country lol.

A lot of American reactors seemed to be confused about this cause they take it literally. The Japanese forums actually have a whole bunch of analyses on the gungi games themselves, but I'll leave that to the others to copypasta.

You NEVER would have guessed earlier in the arc something like that would come into play. Also not only is it character development for the King, but for the royal guards as well. I thought it was interesting that Pouf insisted with his life at stake, that the King has his wounds treated, and he seems to be the one keeping the closest eye on the King.
