REACTING TO Attack on Titan 4x11

Comments

Nicolos × sasha lovers..

Yagami light

Omar doesn't really watch the openings, pretty sure last couple of times he just looked other way and just listen to the music.

I always wonder how people could genuinely hate so much a fictional character?

I love how much you like these kind of episodes. Episodes like this that go on a slower pace tend to bore most of people, but you really get every detail and all the deep meaning behind each scene! I was so excited waiting for you to pick up that Kaya was the girl Sasha saved haha MVP counter: - Gabi: 3 - Reiner: 2 - Eren: 1 - Magath: 1 - Falco: 1 - Jean: 1 - Levi: 1 - Connie: 1

the scene between gabi, falco & kaya inside kaya's old home was really amazing. the VAs were absolutely amazing. when kaya said she wanted to be like sasha really brough a tear to my eye and gabi is just standing there. imagine if kaya knew about sasha's death and who killed her in that scene.

love this take on their relationship, and i think it really fits considering how they often show their love for each other in non-verbal ways

I guess ep17 is part 2 the song seems like a pretty big spoiler.

what do you mean

anyone tell him not the listen to the next opening?

Ngl, I disagree with his point. Eren/Mikasa's relationship definitely holds more weight than Falco/Gabi. For me interpersonal relationships are extremely dynamic, having so many dimensions. The fact that Eren and Mikasa don't have conversations as well fleshed out as Gabi and Falco is done intentionally. I can relate to it alot because me and my brother have a similarly odd relationship, we never have really fleshed out interactions for a number of reasons one of which are long to explain - despite this, we still have a strong familial bond, its very weird. Mikasa is a product of trauma and she was also quite blunt even before her trauma (Seen by the flashback episode where she asks her parents "How were kids made?", done intentionally). & also how she conceptualised life being "inherently cruel" at that age was also done intentionally for the viewer to notice her almost nihilistic nature at that time. I've blabbed on enough but she obviously suffers from severe PTSD and I think her and Eren's relationship is supposed to highlight how complexed interpersonal relationships can be - sometimes a relationship has more weight in your experiences together than in what you have conveyed to eachother.. if that makes sense. I for one can definitely relate to it on a personal level anyway.

I love the small bit of detail at the post-credits scene when Porco says “we’ve been fighting alongside a traitor” and it flashes to Reiner. He was basically a traitor in the Scouts eyes back in Paradis :)

Regarding your Eren/Mikasa hot take I have to agree with you. A lot of character development as well as relationship development is sacrificed for the sake of plot development. Most episodes push plot forward a ton and for the most part it is good and makes for great viewing. The downside is some characters get sidelined or we don't SEE how close they are, we just know that they are and that's all the info we need for the plot. It would be nice to have one or two episodes each season just to see relationships evolve.

A lot of people hated when mappa took over AoT but I liked them so much more. WIT everyone looked all smooth and cartoonish, mappa everyone looks totally different and really detailed. You boy Thorfinn gonna get animated by them too. Perfect studio to do Vinland Saga

Probably one of the greatest understandings and appreciations I have seen regarding what they are doing with Gabi and what not in this episode. As you may note in these comments many didn't like this episode. That was likely due in no small part to the fact that there was massive amounts of hatred towards Gabi when this was coming out and even still. People wanted her to die and couldn't stand her character. That is typically people whose attachment/loyalty to the original cast is such that they have no interest in seeing the nuance of "the other side" or at least that they refuse to be swayed by it. Obviously her killing Sasha really took it to another level. As mentioned in other comments this was the "Braus" stables aka that was Sasha's parents. That fact made this episode even more abrasive to people who already hated Gabi. For the record I wasn't one of those people and had similar thoughts to you about this episode.
