OFAH will return tomorrow!

Spike also has a small cameo part in the life of Brian :)

James Jackaman

I love the Python movies, The Holy Grail is a classic, VERY low budget, but they use that for running jokes, the writing is superb. As is the Life of Brian, which has a much bigger production value and is probably the best of their films. very absurd but so cleverly scripted.

James Jackaman

In my high school, they showed this full movie on the last day of the year in Religious Ed (yeah!) class and that was the first time many of us saw it. Not sure the parents were happy. Respect to the teacher though haha. I saw the Holy Grail for the first time probably 15 years ago in my mid-20's and it was absolutely hilarious. I don't think these movies age. In the case of Brian, especially, it's still religious satire and jokes rarely age when it comes to that as religion rarely changes

This movie, and the first one (Quest for the Holy Grail) are timeless comedies. The jokes don't age, and are every bit as funny today as they were in the 70s.

Darryl Glynn

They used two sets of soldiers for the movie. One set for the rehearsals and then brought in a second set fresh for the main take. The myth is that they were told they wouldn't get paid if they they did laugh which isn't true.

Nix001

There's plenty of amazing funny scenes in the movie, highly recommend watching it.

Daniel Spencer

Fun fact. The soldiers were told not to laugh but they couldn't hold it in so Michael Palin just improvised the last bit.

Joe Blakeley

It’s a classic film, well worth watching.

James Ellison

He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!....

A classic, Monty Python was a catalyst for much British alternative comedy, before them the their inspiration was the radio show. The Goon Show is a British radio comedy programme, originally produced and broadcast by the BBC Home Service from 1951 The show's creator and primary writer was Spike Milligan, who performed in the series alongside Harry Secombe, Peter Sellers and Michael Bentine.
