Operation Essaim: Dungeonrunners

So I've spent quite a while thinking about how I wanna do this crowdfunding thing, and nothing intuitive has really come to me. I considered making an elaborate series of polls but then, like... realized it didn't make any sense and would only weigh everything down. There's only gonna be one decent way to do this, and that's to do it personally.

So I'm not gonna be doing any polls or probes. Instead I'm gonna ask all of you a question: Do you want to help crowdfund the next installment of the Dungeonrunners? If so, keep on reading.

"How much do I need to donate?": That's up to you honestly. The cool thing about Dungeonrunners is that the installments can be really short if need be. Nonetheless, these do take a good deal of time and effort for me to write, so I'll be using a standard commission word-count (2 cents per word), which should be pretty easy to pull off with multiple people chipping in small amounts. This process will get smoothed out, I'm sure, once we've tried it a couple times, but since I don't know exactly how many people are going to pitch in, try to aim for the $5-20 range, and we should get to a decent goal in no time!

"What's in it for me?": Obviously there will be a new chapter of the story, but you knew that. You wanna know if you're gonna get input on the outcome of the story itself, and the answer is... ish? If you do decide to chip in, try to make it an unusual amount (like $9.47 or something) and send me a direct message or email (ravynsland@gmail.com) telling me exactly how much you sent, so I'll know it's you. Then give me your suggestions! I'll ask some questions about your favorite characters and pairings, and maybe some ideas for positions and some such. While I can't promise everything everyone suggests will make it in, I'll definitely at least take them to heart and try to make everyone as happy as I can.

Maybe if y'all are cool with it I can even open up some kind of group email or channel where everyone who pitched in can discuss it together, and we can try to come up with something. ^_^

"Okay, how do I donate?": Just send me however much you like via PayPal, at the email address listed above.

"What if there isn't enough donated to fund a chapter?": Don't worry about that. I've got that covered. <3

"What if there's some kind of money avalanche and you make more money than you deserve for a single chapter, you greedy whore?": Unlikely, but if that happens I'll just roll it over for the next installment. It's not like I have any intention of halting progress on Dungeonrunners -- the girls haven't even gotten to Outland yet! Plus I wanna start trying to incorporate more story elements as we go along to create more of a strong continuity and more layered characters. I think that'd be cool.

"Doesn't my Patreon pledge pay for this kind of shit?": Nope! This is a 100% separate thing. This does not count as one of the two monthly Patreon stories that pledges fund. This is purely a thing for people who specifically want to see another Dungeonrunners installment.

So there we have it! I'll do my best to keep a running tally every few days on where we're currently sitting. Hopefully by the time I finish writing Deadslayer we'll be ready to move forward!
