The primary responsibility of the grant writer is to support the Directors’ activities in advancing the mission and vision of the organization. Coordinate internal activities and ensure the milestones are reached.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead grant writer for the organization
- End to end grant activities: Identify funding resources, lead the process for submitting the grant and followups after the submission.
- Assist Executive Director in grant writing and identifying grant opportunities.
- Manage grant framework and establish preliminary relationships with funding organizations and individuals.
- Identify local, national and international philanthropic organizations involved in similar fields as CureScience
- Develop and maintain a database of funding sources
- Assist Director of community engagement in executing various activities.
- Develop and maintain a database of various local, national and international community organizations that are involved in similar field as CureScience
- Develop and lead social media engagement activities for the organization. Work with external individuals and organizations in establishing the marketing strategy
EXPERIENCE:
- At least two years of experience in writing grants within the life sciences area (must)
- Knowledge of omics: genomics, proteomics and digital is must
- Open to learning new software tools to handle various activities
- A minimum of Bachelors degree in management or related field
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability to analyze financial statements, decipher grant requirements
- Ability to work independently and in a timely manner
- Previous experience with nonprofits is advantageous
- Knowledge of drug development, diagnostics and patient segments is preferrable
