I'm still taking pitches during the pandemic. Looking particularly for stories on politics (personal and party), identity, policy, Pride. Can be COVID-19 related or not.
COMPENSATION: Rates really depend on the scope of the piece and how much research and reporting go into it. We start at $350 CAD for personal essays that don't require very little research on the writer's part (primarily written from a writer's personal perspective), and the rate goes up from there. Personal essays are usually about 1,000 words, and we go a bit longer when it comes to reported features.
LOCATION: We accept writers internationally.
