Gumbo Media is currently accepting pitches for a small-scale digital zine in direct response to COVID-19. Our Zine will center Afrofuturism, which we define as a “looking forward,” exploring a world that is our own and that centers Black experiences and Black life.
We're open to all mediums, including essay, editorial, fiction, poetry, photos, art, comics, video, and audio. Pitches will be due by May 15 at 5 PM CST, and all selections will be commissioned with pay. Commissioned artists will receive $150. Larger/longer pieces will most likely be negotiated at a higher rate.
