Remote Senior Writer wanted for flashcard platform | $15-$90 per hour

We are an adaptive web & mobile flashcards platform focused on “self-improvement” enthusiasts. We are in the midst of a huge overhaul of our website and blog, to be launched later this summer.

To help us prepare for this new launch and beyond, we are looking for an experienced copywriter to author and edit compelling, catchy, and engaging web articles providing study and career tips for a variety of subjects. This is a part-time, long-term role requiring 10-30 hours per week.

You will be working directly with our CEO and editorial manager to craft the thesis for each article, and to direct any supplementary research you’ll need before writing. Subject matter may span topics as broad as academics, law, nursing, wine, and foreign languages, among dozens of others.

Your goal is to make the content POP without being cheesy. Credible without being boring. Irresistibly clickable without being “clickbaity”.

Writing assignments will be part-time at first but may gradually increase as we develop a longer-term relationship. To apply, please describe why you meet our criteria and are our ideal candidate.

CRITERIA:

At least 3 years of experience writing compelling, engaging, high-traffic web content
Has published at least one long-form, seminal piece that has become a top web authority about a specific topic
Proven ability to tie in product mentions & CTAs into an article without feeling too “salesy”
Strong knowledge of SEO and tasteful keyword placement
Proven passion for self-optimization, cognitive science, or adaptive learning
