Remote Investment Writer wanted | $100,000 to $150,000 per year

Salary range is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

The  investment writer will be responsible for driving awareness,  engagement, and influence through a wide variety of private markets  writing. Reporting to the director of private markets writing, he/she is  responsible for understanding market dynamics, the firm’s private  markets capabilities and differentiators, and the specific legal and  compliance framework governing these strategies. He/she must also  develop strong relationships with the portfolio teams, product and  distribution teams, and others at the firm engaged in private markets  work. He/she must be able to synthesize complex content into simple,  short form materials such as presentations and for digital promotion  (website, email, social media).

Manulife Investment  Management's global private markets business includes a diverse range of  asset classes including private equity and credit, infrastructure, real  estate, timber and agriculture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of private markets,  product details, and portfolio management styles in order to deliver  confident writing at multiple levels of sophistication. (25%)
• Develop highly collaborative relationships with private markets  portfolio teams, account management, compliance, product, and sales to  ensure effective campaigns and programs. (30%)
• Confidently write presentations, sales aids, one-page strategy  overviews, longer documents that provide a deeper dive into a particular  strategy, website and social media content, portfolio commentaries,  thought leadership pieces, internal training and other marketing  collateral. (30%)
• Ensure a consistent brand experience across all customer touchpoints and across all media. (15%)
• Collaborate with team members

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Advanced degree, CFA or CAIA designations a plus
• 5+ years of investment writing experience
• Experience working at an asset manager, industry-related news organization, or industry researcher
• Strong investment knowledge, solid understanding of the global markets and forces that may shape it
• Passion for the asset management industry and intellectual curiosity
• Creative thinker and strong collaborator
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Ability to influence direction of work
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
• Ability to interact with senior executives, present at meetings
• Authority to approve written content that represents the brand
• Ability to negotiate with legal and compliance, as well as other areas of the firm
