WHAT
We are looking for heartfelt stories about your favorite fall Minnesota vacations for an upcoming print publication.
Maybe it’s a story about taking your kids fishing for the first time and a reflection on what it means to be a parent. Or maybe it’s a story about how your extended family gets together at the same resort every year, and how that sense of reliability and tradition impacts the rest of your life. Whatever the topic may be, we’re looking for your first-person recollections and ruminations on how these Minnesota vacations have impacted and shaped your life.
WHY
Because it’s not clear when we’ll be able to travel safely, but we still remember why vacations are important. They’re how we celebrate personal and professional milestones, how we reconnect with loved ones, the source of our most cherished memories and a constant fount of aspiration, anticipation and hope.
LENGTH
800 or 1,600 words, based on editorial direction.

HOW TO PITCH
Each pitch should be no more than four sentences long, and must include:
- A brief summary of the story
- Its emotional hook
- The main themes you want to explore
- Major location(s) in the story
