I'm now accepting freelance pitches for news stories.
I'm especially looking for scoopy, ambitious stories.
Anything that's "hiding in plain sight," or something you see going on in your community — locally or online — that should be elevated to national attention.
We typically pay between $200 and $800, and it varies depending on the assignment. For example: For the first piece I'm editing in this role, which I accepted last week, we're paying $400 for a ~900-word story that relies on the author's expertise and would have 1-2 interviews.
