Writers wanted (travel, western US) | ~10 cents per word

We are a quarterly magazine launching in January 2022 with our Winter issue. I'm looking for a talented group of freelance writers and photographers to help me (also a writer and photographer) fill the magazine and our website (still under construction).
To start, pay will be per article and negotiable based on experience (~10 cents/word for most sections). While these are freelance/contract positions, I would like to have a small group of regular contributors to turn to for articles/photos. Ideally, I'll have 13, one for each state in our coverage area. Eventually, I'll also be hiring an editor for the magazine when those duties exceed what I can handle.
REQUIREMENTS:
- This is remote work, but you should be located somewhere in the American West (13 states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington or Wyoming).
- Passion for regional travel... if you don't want to be a travel writer/photographer, please do not apply to write for us!

Pay is roughly 10 cents per word on most articles.
