I'm editing for the magazine for the next few months and looking to commission writers for solutions-oriented Indigenous rights pieces. Interested in reported pieces (particularly from Indigenous journalists).
Pay: 40 cents/word for reported pieces, although I'm also looking for perspective and opinion (stipend offered). I try to make the editing process really humane (e.g., comparable to pay rate and also supportive/engaging for the writer).
My goal: Your voice comes through. Your expertise is respected and presented. We have a a relationship where we both come away with deeper insights.
Yes! pays digitally (direct deposit or Paypal) and thus, I've been told, promptly (<2 weeks is normal). I will do everything in my power to ensure prompt payments. (I, too, am a freelancer.)
