This newsletter lets you know what I am actively seeking for future issues of SIDEQUEST.

If you have an idea that isn't specifically called for, feel free to send it over unless it's on the "Do not pitch me" list.

Before pitching, please familiarize yourself with the rules for submission over on patreon, and check out the article index to make sure what you are pitching hasn't already been published.

DO NOT PITCH ME

• Full Classes or Subclasses.
• Repeated material: Please do not submit work you have published elsewhere on the internet, and look over the article index to make sure you're not pitching thematically similar things to previous articles.
• Spells
• Magic Items
• Monsters

PLEASE PITCH ME

Fantastic Locations: 1-2,000 words talking about a fantastic location that can be placed into any campaign setting.

• An evocative name is critical here. No one wants to go to Jim's Tower when they see it on a map. But they will be desperate to go to the Tower of Shattered Time. These should be the kind of locations players could get excited by when seeing them on a map.
• These articles are high-level macro descriptions of locations, not room-by-room encounter based locations. See the attached example to see the kind of thing we're looking for.
• Where possible, include some instructions or ideas on how to incorporate the location into an existing campaign.

Traps: I'm looking for stand-alone traps that can be placed into almost any adventure. Entries should include the following:

• Whether they are mechanical or magical.
• A description of the trap.
• Required skills/circumstances to discover the trap, along with a read-aloud sentence/paragraph to describe the trap to the players if they discover it.
• The effects of the trap when triggered, ideally with multiple tiers of severity so the trap can be used at any tier of play (Tier 1: Levels 1-5, Tier 2: Levels 6-10, Tier 3: Levels 11-15, Tier 4: Level 15+)

Puzzles: I'm looking for a selection of puzzles that can be dropped into any game. Each puzzle should have;

• A difficultly rating (easy/medium/hard)
• An overview of the puzzle
• A description of the puzzle/situation that could be read to the players
• At least one listed solution
• Detailed hint checks for things the characters can uncover based on 2-3 different skill DCs.
• Notes on any ways you might customize the puzzle.

Teamwork rules: I'm looking for rules that allow players to combo their moves together. Think in the avengers when Iron Man bounces his repulsor beams off Captain America's shield, or when Hawkeye shoots an arrow with Antman on.

Please email your pitches in a separate email with the subject line "SIDEQUEST Pitch, [Pitch Name], [Your Name]". The deadline for April's pitches is Monday, April 11th.

If I like your pitch I will ask you for an outline and we will proceed from there.
