Pitches wanted (business) (WORLDWIDE) | ~58 cents per word

Karis, News Editor at Courier Media, is looking for pitches:
I am seeking pitches for 500-1000 word features focused on trends and analysis in the world of small business and modern business culture to be published in the Courier Weekly newsletter that is aimed at small business owners and those interested in the world of modern/creative business.
Ideally seeking writers with a background in business that can write with a touch of POV and personality but authoritatively. Subject matter is fairly open but it should be either
- An unexpected or deeper take on recent news/trends -- we did a piece on the monetization of memes during the Little Miss craze and a piece on what female focused fintech is getting wrong
- A trend in business models -- we've written about the behind the scenes work that it takes for small brands to launch buy back programs and how to build co-creation into product building
- An unexpected trend / opportunity -- such as the popularity of religion-based startups, the opportunity in women's boxing, the rise of gig CEOs, etc.
We're not interested in breaking news, funding announcements or big venture backed companies. Please read newsletters in our archive before pitching -- we have a very specific subject matter and tone so looking at what we've previously done is a great way to hone your pitch: https://www.couriermedia.com/email/courier-weekly/
Pay: £0.50 per word. We have accepted new writers in the past when they have pitched us a story that was very in line with what we cover -- just be sure to read a lot of our stories and previous newsletters to make sure the idea is in line with our work. Anyone from anywhere is welcome -- we are based in London but we cover businesses and trends from all over the world. If anything, it would be better to hear of a trend or business not in the UK (but still pitch if you have a great idea!) Pitch karis@couriermedia.com with samples to previous work (if possible). Use [PITCH] in the subject line along with whatever it's about.
