MAGAZINE WRITER (REMOTE, CONTRACTOR)

The Art of Education University is seeking exceptional educators to write for its online magazine, which receives over 800,000 views per month. Writers submit three articles, along with 3-4 original photos each month. Writers must have classroom art experience, strong writing and communication skills, enthusiasm and knowledge of trends and best practices in art education, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

POSITION DETAILS

Structured as a remote part-time, project-based, contractor position. This position will report to the Media Content Manager

This position is eligible to remote work from the following locations: USA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Submit three articles, along with 3-4 original photos, to be published in The Art of Education University's Online Magazine each month.
• Create one Instagram Story per month to highlight an article they have written.
• Provide timely and clear communication with the writing team and the Media Content Manager via Slack and email each week.

• Passion and knowledge about up-to-date trends and best practices in art education.
• Organized and responsible with deadlines.
• Comfortable and proficient with technology.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience

K-12 art classroom teaching experience.

Other requirements

• Ability to view computer screens for significant periods of time. The Art of Education University is an online university therefore 95-98% of one’s time will be on or using technology.
• Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
• Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

COMPENSATION

Writers earn a base stipend of $350 each month.
