Added 2024-02-01 20:59:16 +0000 UTCCOMPANY/PUBLICATION: UNBIAS THE NEWS
Deadline: 7 February 2024
Call for pitches: Unbias the News seeks pitches on migrant underemployment for an innovative, collaborative data investigation with Lighthouse Reports and other partners across Europe. The countries we are seeking pitches from: Greece, Italy, Finland, Austria, Portugal, Norway.
We're looking into how policy barriers prevent immigrants from gaining access to working in professional fields they are qualified in. We will offer support to journalists working with us in familiarizing them on this topic.
The finished piece should have original reporting and interviews with affected individuals. We are particularly soliciting pitches from local journalists with migrant background/ a personal relationship with migration. Journos who speak English as a 2nd/3rd language are welcome.
To apply, please send a short pitch including the country you are covering, links to two work samples, and statement explaining why you are the right person to tell this story to: pitch@unbiasthenews.org This opportunity pays 800 euros.
Deadline: We will wait until we have adequate responses for at least three of the countries—probably 1,5 weeks.
