We are looking for an Oakland-based writer, ideally deeply familiar with the city, who has experience doing in-person interviews and feature-writing to turn around a feature in the next 3-ish weeks. This commission is for Heartbeat, our new music & sound magazine. The interviewees will be regulars at an old-school jazz club, and the writing will pair with some special portraits taken at this club. Interviews will be done in person at the club (the photographer will be there to facilitate introductions), so we need someone experienced with this style of interviewing.
