YOUR PITCH
Email pitches to: info@mountains-magazine.com
Subject line must be in the following format: PITCH[Location][Suggested headline]
Please summarise your piece in no more than 10 sentences.
Yes please:
Pitches for two or three seasons ahead (i.e. pitches in September, October and November will be for the Spring or Summer issues, pitches in December, January and February will be for the Summer or Autumn issues, pitches in March, April and May will be for the Autumn or Winter issues, pitches in June, July and August will be for the Winter or Spring issues)
Three or more of the following:
Interesting characters
New experiences
Off-the-beaten track (yet easily accessible) destinations
New takes on already popular destinations
Popular activities (e.g. hiking, cycling, skiing, culinary lessons, visiting a spa)
Regularly occurring events
A view that’s either unique, relatively unknown, or popular but with a new angle
Vaguely seasonal theme, based on northern hemisphere seasons. Features will therefore have to fit the seasons, e.g. no skiing content in summer, hiking content in winter will be at lower altitudes or in southern hemisphere mountains etc. Any experience must be readily available for readers to try for themselves
Characters that will feature in your story. A human angle often makes for a more interesting story!
