Chapter 780: Chaos in All Directions

“We’re here too. Long time no see, Nan Hua Daoist.” Three more figures appeared, their faces filled with hatred as they looked at Nan Hua. “We’ve lived beyond the Great Wall for so long that we nearly forgot the splendor of the Central Plains.”

“How many of them can you handle?” Tong Yuan, feeling a bit of a headache, directly transmitted his voice to Nan Hua. Although he didn’t particularly like Nan Hua, Tong Yuan understood very well who would stand on his side in this situation.

Regardless of the differences, the immortals living in the Central Plains would never plunder the foundation of the dynasty. Even someone like Yu Ji, who walked an extreme path, would only replace one faction of warlords, not devour the empire’s centuries-old fortune, leaving the Central Plains in chaos and its people in misery.

“Three of them. Ever since I shattered the Divine Stone, the vitality between heaven and earth has been recovering, allowing their powers to grow significantly. However, I reached my limit early on and have no further path forward,” Nan Hua’s voice echoed in Tong Yuan’s ear.

“You handle those three that appeared together, and I’ll take care of Nan Dou and Bei Ming.” With Nan Hua’s assurance, Tong Yuan felt more confident.

“But be careful. Back then, I drove more than fifty beings like Nan Dou out of the Central Plains,” Nan Hua shared an unfortunate truth, revealing the extent of his previous dominance.

“...” Tong Yuan’s face darkened, choosing not to respond. He swung his spear-axe and charged directly at Nan Dou. Among them, Bei Ming was undoubtedly the strongest, but Nan Dou was by far the most troublesome. If Nan Dou wasn’t taken out, defeating the enemy would be nearly impossible.

Meanwhile, in Bingzhou, Lü Bu cleaved through an immortal with one strike. All these years, Lü Bu had never seen anyone dare fly over his head. To him, it didn’t matter who they were — if they dared, they would die.

However, after killing one of them, Lü Bu realized he had stirred up a hornet’s nest. He was now surrounded by eight strange, ugly figures.

“What the hell are you?” Lü Bu, mounted on his Red Hare horse, blocked an incoming attack and coldly stared at his enemies as he swung his Sky Piercer.

“I am the North Star of Death. You dared destroy one of my avatars, so I’ll refine you into my next one!” Eight different voices melded into one.

“North Star?” Lü Bu tilted his head in thought before bursting into laughter. “Just a bunch of trash-level Inner Qi experts, and you think you can kill me, Lü Bu? You’re all dead!”

With that, Lü Bu’s body erupted in a violent golden flame of inner energy, blasting the eight North Star figures away. He pulled the reins, and the Red Hare moved like a shadow as Lü Bu executed two of the North Star avatars with a single strike.

“So weak! You dare bark in front of me with such pitiful Inner Qi? Did your master not teach you to respect true strength?” Lü Bu taunted, gripping his Sky Piercer with one hand, pointing it at the remaining six North Star figures as he laughed maniacally.

“Who... who are you?” The North Star figures, now cautious, regarded Lü Bu with solemn expressions. They suddenly realized that this man before them was even stronger than Nan Hua had been thirty years ago.

“Who am I? Ha! I am Lü Bu, the Marquis of Wen! The greatest warrior under heaven! Prepare to die!” Lü Bu roared with laughter as he charged forward, Sky Piercer in hand. Any warrior of such feeble Inner Qi was no threat to him.

Elsewhere, Wang Yue decapitated Fan Huanzi with a single sword strike. Glancing at the eight lights in the sky, he smiled bitterly. He had blocked three, but as for the remaining five, there was little he could do. The allure of this artifact was simply too great for the immortals to resist. He could only do his best.

“There are countless heroes in the Central Plains. Surely someone will deal with these intruders...” Wang Yue murmured as he slowly drew his rusty iron sword from its sheath. How long had it been since his sword had last shown its edge?

“I said this path is closed!” Wang Yue’s voice, cold as ice, echoed out. The rust on his sword slowly flaked away, revealing a nearly transparent blade beneath.

“Wang Yue, do you think you alone can stop the three of us?” sneered the leader, an elderly man in sackcloth.

“I can’t block you all, but I can certainly kill you!” Wang Yue replied coldly.

At that moment, Wang Yue’s hunched, frail figure straightened. The wrinkles on his face faded away as the gleam of his sword grew brighter. In an instant, he had reversed time, returning to the prime of his youth, looking as though he was thirty years old once more!

“Swish!” Wang Yue’s sword was lightning fast. In the blink of an eye, the head of the sackcloth elder flew off. His body disintegrated into a gray mist, reforming hundreds of meters away, but it was clear he was greatly weakened.

“Kill!” Wang Yue’s figure split into three as he charged the three enemies, his sword shadows enveloping the entire sky, trapping his foes within.

“Wang Yue, you want to fight to the death?” the sackcloth elder roared in anger.

“Fight to the death? You overestimate yourselves. You’re not even worthy,” Wang Yue sneered.

At that moment, a crimson phantom began to emerge from Wang Yue’s sword. He glanced at the phantom and seemed to grow dazed, as if he had fallen into a deep sleep, but his body remained floating in the air.

“Slash!” The three foes hesitated, wary of Wang Yue, but as they prepared to test him, Wang Yue suddenly awoke, and all three were gravely wounded in an instant. Before they could disperse into smoke, Wang Yue’s sword trembled, and their forms dissolved entirely, leaving nothing behind.

Wang Yue stepped out of the space he had sealed off, blood dripping from his mouth. Killing three top-tier Inner Qi experts in one strike had taken a significant toll on his body.

“Those five... even I cannot fight three of them at once, especially the leader, who is truly strong. The heroes of the Central Plains will have to handle them,” Wang Yue muttered, stroking the spine of his sword as he gazed back toward the heart of the Central Plains.

“Lord, be careful!” Dian Wei shouted, his gaze fixed on the golden light in the sky, his expression grave.

“Be on guard, Brother!” Xiahou Yuan, clutching his prized bow, was equally serious.

“He’s coming!” Dian Wei exclaimed in alarm, leaping into the air to intercept the golden light.

“Out of my way!” the golden figure roared, swatting at Dian Wei.

“Boom!” The black and gold energies clashed violently. As their attacks connected, neither held back, each throwing a punch at the other’s chest.

“Boom!” Dian Wei was sent crashing into the ground, leaving a massive crater, while his opponent was knocked backward through the sky.

“Hahaha! I didn’t expect to find a worthy opponent here!” The golden figure flew back quickly, standing arrogantly above Cao Cao, his face filled with pride.

“Crash!” From the crater Dian Wei had created, a hand reached out, and moments later, Dian Wei emerged, completely unharmed.
