Although I know nothing about the context and Telugu cinema, but this shows all of us that India is like a multiverse and we think we all know a bit being a Hindi mainstream fan, but fell in love with this and then I was compelled to check out on YouTube the song remade again in Mahanati. Keerthi performed it so well. I watch both the songs there at least 15 times last night. Just was not getting enough of it. Both actresses were so amazing. Strange that I am getting to know more about my India through this channel.

It also featured a song with the couple rowing In a boat at night time. This was the first ever time in Indian film history when the shooting was done in daytime and a night time illusion was created. The cast featured almost all the biggest names in telugu industry at that time. The movie is based on a small fantasy part of mahabharata, sasirekha parinayam, which is the wedding of sasirekha to arjuna's son abhimanyu which is not in mahabharata but a folklore. The song featured the man S.V.Ranga Rao who is a stalwart of telugu film and quite honestly one of the most natural actors alltime in the world. The movie mahanati is a biopic of the legendary actress savitri. This performance got her rave reviews especially as the woman possessed by the half demon king ghatotkacha (Hagrid of those times). Her mannerisms in the movie, oscillating between delicate princess and the big personality king won her rave reviews. One of the big polls by a media organization in 2013 listed this movie as the best Indian movie of all time. This movie was colourised by Goldstone technologies, a pioneer visual effects lab in Hyderabad in 2007. The movie ran for full for months in a IMAX theater where it was released. The colourisation triedd to be authentic based on the peoples accounts who were involved in the production of that movie including colouring the same colours of clothes the actors wore at that time. A must watch movie.
