I think you guys got a few facts wrong in so far as this episode is concerned. The kid being beaten by his dad in the beginning of the episode was the main cop, Hathi Ram Chaudhary. It was mentioned in the sub-titles too. It was a flashback. Secondly, the guy who didn't know Urdu was Kabir M, one of the accused in the case. It wasn't Taariq, the guy whose dead body was found.
