If you want to watch a movie suitable for Pride Month, I'd recommend Dedh Ishqiya (on Netflix).. It is a dark comedy with a wacky premise – a widowed Begum needs to remarry so she decides to choose a mate via a poetry slam. As you do. However, her maid/companion is her real soulmate and they have plans that do not include matrimony. It has Madhuri, looking positively radiant, and Naseeruddin Shah as a love struck suitor. Huma Qureshi, a woefully over looked talent, is the companion. Her scenes with Madhuri are very heartfelt – the caring is tangible. The movie is a sequel to Ishqiya but is lighter and, frankly, funnier.
