Remakes vs Originals - many a times, remakes actually surpass the original in terms of quality, as they are done with a different flavor and by different people who did not work on the original content. Friends was directed in Malayalam and Tamil by the same director but the crew/writing was different due to the language. This comedy scene surpassed the original (opinions are subjective; I have watched both versions and I loved the Tamil one more). Suggesting remakes to OSR is not wrong because of this reason!

I would rather not read anything in it except just enjoy the fun and performances in it. For example one may refer a half filled glass as half empty. Man woman funny interactions are always funny and engaging to watch and this way you will get angry on every man woman joke as everything is then skewing towards sexism. At times we just need to remove our over analytical hats and look at things in their actual intended manner (of entertainment) rather then reading roo much into this. Its natural for people to have different views though. My whole family loves that scene including very independent women who are feminists and very domestic ones also. Women of all kinds that I have ever discussed that with loved it. So just relax on the gender undertones here. Its just fun and it is 'knowingly' shown as fun there and is not suggestive. Almost Every movie has the hero chase the heroine till date (not only in 80s 90s) and do not forget this movie has exact the reverse of this scene also in the climax. 😄
