Mr.Nathan, you either have difficulty in understanding what I wrote above or plainly denying to understand. I never said don’t watch Hindi films or anything like that. And the fact that the quality of Hindi films is decreasing is as plain as light. The ratio of good to bad films is obviously high in Southern industries. Not here for a fight regarding south vs north by the way. I am a Malayali and I grew up watching both Malayalam and Hindi films. Heck, I scored 98% in my 10th Hindi exams just because I used to watch Hindi movies. As someone who has been watching movies, I don’t need anyone’s input to tell Bollywood is declining. I am not questioning how many Indians watch Hindi films or saying OSR shouldn’t review them. I gave my comment in the other post regarding a better approach to these movie reviews. Go read that. You may not like it because you may be getting what you want right now only. But think of unfortunate patreons who at best May be getting 4-5 videos in a month that they like let alone movie reviews from their languages. I know that pain , you may not.

If you see Rick’s comments they have reviewed 142 Hindi movies of 235 total movies that also includes Bengali, Marathi, Assanese, Punjabi and Gujrati. Why do you think that happened? If Korbin recommends movies to his friends and if they reviewed it, it’s 100% Hindi movies. In India, as per 2011 census, Hindi is the largest speaking language. 528 Million people or 43.6% people first language is Hindi. Bengali is 97 million or 8%. They watch Hindi movies too. Marathi is 83 million or 7%. They watch Hindi movies. Gujrati 4.5% or 55 million. They watch Hindi movies. Urdu 50 million or 4.2%. They watch Hindi movies. Punjabi 33 million or 3%. They watch Hindi movies. Then there are Sindhi, Bhojpuri, Maithli etc In total about 70% of Indian population watch Hindi movies. So, you are saying we must ignore 70% of Indian population due to regional preferences? This year alone they watched and loved /raved Hindi movies released this year including Love Hostel, Gehraiyaan, Badhai Do, Jalsa, Bob Biswas, Gangubai Etc apart from the classic movies and this year has just started. Why are you trying to be toxic?

They were also initially introduced to hindi films and a lot of their subscribers are here for Hindi films. I feel like nothing they do to please people will ever be enough honestly

2022-04-01 15:38:07 +0000 UTCWhat’s the reason tamil and Malayalam aren’t eligible? First of all it’s not fair to have a poll for Hindi alone and rest all languages grouped together. It just makes sure there will definitely be a Hindi movie reviewed and from any other language we may or may not get a movie review. And to think of it, it may not even worth to watch a Hindi film every month given the quality of that industry is on the decline. As someone said above it is not fair to group other languages with Tamil or Telugu as well as these options are almost certain to win. Korbin needs to find a better way for these polls.

A strict rule like barring SRK movies for a month in Hindi polls should be applied here as well as otherwise, movies from others regions will always lag behind in these polls. In last month polls, this comment of mine got a lot of support and I hoped that it will change things somewhat. Such extraordinary Bengali or Marathi movies never get enough votes. This is just sad.

It’s better to keep all South movies to compete together, so that movies from other regions get a fair chance to win these polls. Leaving out just Tamil/Malayalam will never work effectively in this situation.
