I liked Rekha in Aastha too. Her pairing with Om Puri is the icing on the cake for me. Another good movie for them to watch.

2022-04-02 13:07:57 +0000 UTCThe other two young actresses in this film: 1. Ratna Pathak shah: Naseeruddin Shah's wife. She's the one who happily went to his tent in the night. 2. Supriya Pathak: Ratna's sister in real life. She was the girl who got caught with the boyfriend. She was also Deepika's mom in Ramleela. The elderly actress is also a well known and famous one. She was the fake mom in Golmaal. And she's the above mentioned actresses' mom in real life :) Maybe that's why we also felt the camaredie of the women come through. The mukhiya's wife, Deepti Naval is also a great actress.

In fact he won the national best actor award for the latter….

Her chemistry with Farooq Sheikh is unmatched to this date. You are yet to explore both of them. You could watch Chashme Baddoor or Kisi se Na Kehna at some point in future for these two. You also saw Ratna Pathak Shah (Naseer’s wife) and her sister Supriya Pathak (Shahid’s stepmom and Pankaj Kapoor’s wife) among the village ladies. The old lady was played by their legendary mother Dina Pathak - another great actress and a favourite of the director Hrishikesh Mukherjee. For Smita, check out Aakrosh, Arth or Ardh Satya. For Naseer, watch Ijaazat next.
