And you could watch Bheeshmaparvam starring Mammootty and Soubin in Disney Hotstar. Itβs kind of a tribute God Father and Mahabharata π

But the first one from 1988 where Mammootty looks almost similar to this 2022 one is the best of the lot! I may have watched it in a video cassette player a 100 times in my childhood. The title music in that film is the same one from this teaser and it was so epic for a film that came in 1988.

This series was very well received for focusing on the logical thinking character and the use of deductive reasoning rather than being a pure action flick. Something that set the lead character apart from the other crime thrillers at that time - no flashy fight sequences at the end, a more poirot-esque reveal in the presence of the full cast.

These are the past 4 ones. 1) Oru CBI Diary Kurippu (1988). 2) Jagratha (1989) 3) Sethurama Iyer CBI (2004) 4) Nerariyan CBI (2005) The character Mammootty plays is called Sethurama Iyer. The Director(K. Madhu) , Writter (S. N. Swamy) are the same for all 5 movies. And the theme music which you heard when Mammootty entered is quite famous one which is used in all the movies.
