I would always recommend Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak aka QSQT Aamir Khan's Debut movie 😊 It's one of those movies that no one has done a watch along for yet on YouTube but Even a review would be sufficient, I think a watchalong with Korbin and Steph or Just a review with Korbin and Rick would be ideal 😊

I find that for reading queerness in Kal Ho Naa Ho, a lot of Eve Sedwick's thinking in Between Men is a very useful standpoint. Good luck with your research!

OUR STUPID REACTIONS

You all must review Kal Ho Naa Ho at some point. It's one of those films in the early 2000s alongside Dil Chahta Hai that completely transformed the language of Hindi cinema. Also, a lot of academics have written about how this movie uniquely balances the slippage of heterosexual and homoerotic desire in the "love triangle" trope. In that sense, it really zeroes in on desire and triangulation quite beautifully. It also has a great SRK performance, he's on the charm offensive but watch his eyes when he's reacting to moments, sometimes from the corner of the frame. Another film worth checking out is Mohobbatein. Dead Poets' Society inspired, but really its own film. It's a little long, and I have trouble relating with one or two of the side characters. But scenes with SRK and Amitabh are off the charts. This is easily their best work together and there is something really meta the film says about how the role of the "hero" changed between these two superstars. Another very subdued SRK performance. I know you're both interested in the history of (mainstream) Bollywood, which is why I think these two films might be of interest.

Chupke Chupke - Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and have Amitabh Bachhan/ Jaya Bachhan/Dharmendra/Sharmila Tagore 2. Angoor - Directed by Gulzar and Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma in lead role ( this was based on Shekespeare's play The Comedy of errors) Drama- 1. Saheb Biwi aur Gulaam- This is Guru Dutt movie having Meena Kumari and Guru Dutt .. This move is one master piece created by Guru Dutt 2. Shakti or Zanjeer - Both of these are Amitabh Bachhan movies
