A New Favourite Spot in Tokyo ❤️ Weekly Catchup

I feel bad for falling behind on my YouTube videos, but Ushka and I have been much busier than anticipated this month with the launch of our business. Now that we've gotten the hang of things, I think next month will be a lot more chill haha. I'm back in Morioka for a few days now so I'll get busy on finishing up the farmstay video I've been working on! 👩‍🌾

You may have seen a couple of the photos on the Neko Neko Post instagram if you follow us there, but I've discovered an amazing shop in Tokyo! It's called Boris Zakkaten and they sell the artwork of Higuchi Yuko. She is well known for her whimsical detailed drawings of cats and other animals, as well as imaginary creatures. Lots of her artwork has a really cool and slightly creepy sci-fi vibe about it.  Ushka stopped by her shop to pick up some postcards for this month's subscription packages, and when I saw how cool they were I knew I had to see it for myself. It's cat-lady heaven inside - filled with cat drawings, sculptures, books, stickers, clothing and figures! Unfortunately they don't allow photos inside the shop, so you'll have to come to Tokyo to see that for yourself. I was able to pick up a few blind box toys to open in a future livestream! 

Also, good news! I was able to get permission to film inside this amazing hotel that rents you a cat for the night!

You start off inside a cat cafe, and you get to choose the cat that will join you in your hotel room for the night. The concept is that it gives people who are considering getting a cat the experience of taking care of one for the night to see if they're really up for it. If you fall in love with your rent-a-kitty you can actually adopt them and bring them home with you as well. I'll be going there in October, can't wait!! 😻

The weather in Japan is finally starting to cool down!! 🍃This is a huge deal for me because it's been so hot this summer that I've avoided going out until the sun goes down, and even then it's humid and gross. I'm looking forward to getting out of the house again! I'm going to try to get a portable wifi machine from the phone company tomorrow so I can start streaming outside, so if that goes well we might be doing an outdoor stream over on the Sharla in Japan channel this week! Fingers crossed 🤞
