This is probably not the way that Joe wanted this to come out. Man, that last frame almost brings a tear to my eye. I can seriously FEEL the torment in his heart right now. I felt it the first time I came out to a loved one, and even multiplentimes after that—I was ready to lose them, for them to decide they wanted nothing to do with me. Being gay still isn't as accepted as social media may lead some to believe, and that can make it so hard to be open about who you are. That moment between saying "I'm gay" and awaiting their response feels like hours, even if their response is only a few seconds away. Every second tore at my heart like I was hanging at the edge of a cliff, fingers bleeding on the edge, hoping they'd reach out and grab my hand and tell me it would be alright, and that they loved me for who I am. It's a horribly uncomfortable place to be, so I seriously admire anybody who has the courage to make that leap of faith. Damn it Meesh, you just made this a very emotional scene for me haha, I'm very grateful for your talent. Funny how a comic strip can be so intimately relatable, yet here I am holding back tears cuz I'm still at work lol. Thanks man :')
