Hey Everyone!
Just wanted to share some updates from the animated film project! Here are some work in progress, behind the scenes photos from the studio! Above is a literal photo of a work screen of one of our wonderful animators, Marion Vinardi. At this moment, she is animating a scene where Celeste is looking at one of the space plants she discovers on her extraterrestrial adventures.
The program the animators are using is called Maya. You can see on the top right a kind of modular multi-colored figurine which shows all the articulation points and controllers for the character. Everything from elbows, joints, wrists, knuckles, finger tips, eyelids, etc. can be animated. Every movement is placed in x/y/z space.
Below is a picture of screen of one of our other wonderful animators, Betrand Dubromel. He's working on a birds eye view shot of Celeste operating one of the space consoles in the ship during a dramatic escape sequence. There is a wave form on the bottom of the landscape screen which is the audio from the scene. Animators can pick key moments for certain poses to land on certain moments in the audio if it makes sense to do so.
For some sequences, I've done the music and preliminary sound design/foley if the timing of the joke or acting is very specific. For this scene however, we discussed how we wanted it to feel more loose and panicky, like she's playing an old school 80s or 90s video game. So Bertrand will do the animation and I'll create the sound effects to match up with the timing of the animation afterwards.

Anyhow, things are rolling right along and the whole team is working through the 900+ shots we need to complete for the whole film. Above are just examples of 2 of them!
Having fun and it's a joy to see this story come alive bit by bit each week!
Stay tuned for more updates!
Thank you for your continued support!
