How is it that you find all this secondary literature?? I just got into philosophy not too long ago, and the books like this have me very interested. If theres any ways yall know of finding cool literature like this, or any other way to get in depth information on these philosophers pls help me out🙏

I’ve been taught that it’s precisely in the dropping of the noumenal world that modern nihilism was born (meaning was previously found in “the other world”, meaning was completely transferred to “the other world”, when “the other world” was dropped, meaning was dropped with it - something like that). I imagine the quoted passage is what my teacher was referencing. I’ve also been taught (by you, amongst others) that Nietzsche was no nihilist, he warned and worked against it. I am seeing in the 5th stage hence a call to anti-nihilism, or, from my perspective, happy nihilism (I wanted to write vitalism, but that has a meaning of its own and quite different from what I mean): cheerfulness, indeed, the pandemonium of all free spirits. But then there’s another stage? I need to look deeper into this “incipit Zarathustra”. Personally, I don’t know why the fact that “there is one world, and it’s this one” should be bad. I like the idea of being a (non-materialist) naturalist. I hope Leiter is right, that Nietzsche was one (too) (though
I don’t know if Nietzsche would align with the non-materialist part?). And I can see that this could be a reclaiming of what was before “the other world” became meaningful (“end of the longest error"). And talking of Paul RĂ©e, I think when I read Clark I would like to combine it with Lou Andreas-Salomé’s book on Nietzsche. I have neither on my shelves as yet. I’m not sure if Andreas-SalomĂ© writes faithfully (I do have her book on Rilke, and I’m planning to read it in February: “You alone are real to me”. The woman had phenomenal lovers).

Is there a system to, or a reason behind, your use of different colors when highlighting your book? Also, about the point around 14:30: for the record, the actual record, because this feels important and I haven’t said it anywhere else (mostly because it wouldn’t make any sense for me to say it, since my published work isn’t out there (yet 😉)), my notebook writings are definitely NOT the “true me.” They’re not not me either, just that they are very much works in progress. A lot of them actually straight-up contradict each other, because I argue with myself constantly, which I think is what any thinker does if they’re taking their thinking seriously.

Not related to the Ol' Moustache Man but I started reading The Brothers Karamazov earlier today in your honour. For now I love the way is written and surprisingly I'm following it without getting distracted by my own thoughts. Cheers to ya đŸ„‚
