After losing the entire layer I had to trace over a screen cap from a stream recording in order to recover these images.
If you're using Clip/Manga studio be sure to remove or reassign all the hotkeys related to Clear and possibly Fill. If you have a folder with layers and you press del or alt+del or backspace and a few other combinations. it will completely clear every layer under that folder without warning.
