A Note About Transfer Quality & Time Coding

Almost every episode in the vault has several copies. Some are even on old film rolls, but those often have been copied to VHS. (The film versions are a lot more $$ and time consuming to digitize, so mostly sticking to tapes when possible right now.) The tapes are all labeled just slightly differently (i.e. "mixed"/"unmixed"/"rough cut"/air copy", etc). Right now I'm kinda going more by what's on the tape rather than aiming for the highest quality. When I do start putting these on physical media, I will digitize all versions and choose whichever version is highest quality (and hopefully uncensored...I gotta think every ep has an uncensored version in there somewhere :) For now, though, I figured it was more important to digitize as many different segments as possible to give you guys an idea of what all is waiting for us to uncover! :
Re. Time Coding:
Believe it or not, JB has kept extensive records of the time codes for every movie he's ever shown. They currently exist in many binders in a Cincinnati storage locker. I'm bugging him to figure out how to get 'em all to me, which I'm pretty sure will be happening soon.
In the meantime, though, I didn't want to post the MV clips without codes. So I've re-watched all these movies and marked the codes as closely as I can figure out on my own. Once I get those precious notebooks I'll come back and update them all (and might possibly start embedding them in the vids for ya, since they will be the officially official times), but in the meantime if you spot that my coding is off anywhere definitely feel free to correct me! :) xoxo

2021-05-17 12:29:06 +0000 UTCIsn't it crazy how every tape and reel in that storage unit can all fit on a hard drive the size of a chap stick now? For some reason I'm majorly into old tv and movies being saved and restored. Even the old stuff people don't care about like game shows and soap operas. Things like that aired almost daily so there's so many episodes lost to time. A lot of good work is buried in things like that. I'm so glad you're doing this for all of Joe Bob's stuff. It definitely deserves to be preserved for all of mankind!
